Italians who last year announced they had
demonstrated faster-than-light travel have
admitted their
observed effect disappeared when they tightened a cable between a GPS receiver and a timer. Correcting the cabling issue altered the measurable transit time by 60 nanoseconds, bringing the observed facts into consistency with
well-tested theories about
the relationship between time and space.
